Cookie cleaning her toes

So when I took Bouncy back to be shown for adoptions, Cookie was there. She was a another little 10-week-old kitten who had an infection and hadn’t been eating, and as a result was literally half the size of her littermates. She was being taken to get an injection of antibiotics, and City Critters needed someone to foster her who could give her the injections until the course of antibiotics was finished.

I went along for the ride just to get the demonstration for intramuscular injections, and of course knew that the minute I got in the car I was going to be fostering Cookie.

Anyway, I got the demonstration from Tammy of Kitten Little Rescue, and with her very clear instructions felt comfortable taking Cookie home and playing doctor. Cookie felt better almost immediately after the first shot and when I got her home she practically dove into the food I gave her. After a couple of days she’s practically out-eating my cats, and they aren’t nibblers!

So I volunteered to foster again….wasn’t sure if I’d be able to resist keeping my charge, especially when I was handed an adorable little 10-week-old black male kitten! But he had a great time bouncing around my apartment with my four big guys, and then I dutifully returned him to Petco. Luckily he settled right into a cage there and promptly began playfully batting at the kitty next door, who was batting back at him. He seems to live up to his name, and finds playmates wherever he goes!
